The role of redox homeostasis biomarkers in clear cell renal cell carcinoma development and progression

چکیده

The clear cell renal carcinoma (ccRCC) is the most frequent and aggresive subtype of usually detected at an already advanced stage. It might even be observed as a metabolic disease since complex molecular changes disturbed redox homeostasis are its hallmark. As certain characteristic for tumorigenesis, while some other metastatic disease, identification modifications could also point out stage tumor progression. Hypoxia inducible factor, factor regulating transcription genes encoding glycolytic enzymes, well controlling lipid accumulation, has particular place in ccRCC development. Additionaly, induces Keap1/Nrf2 pathway which further modulates synthesis phase-II detoxifying metabolism enzymes. upregulation glutathione transferases, Pi class especially, inhibits kinase-dependent apoptosis that essential Furthermore, hydrogen peroxide (H2O2) acts signaling molecule conveying signals, superoxide dismutase, peroxidase enzymes involved production degradation. Hence, activity these impacts levels consequentially ability cells to evade negative effect reactive oxygen species.

Role of Brg1 in progression of esophageal squamous cell carcinoma

Objective(s): Epigenetic regulation of gene expression can be carried out through chromatin remodeling enzymes such as SWI/SNF. Brg1 also known as SMARCA4 is a catalytic subunit of SWI/SNF, which is necessary for MMPs expression. Matrix metalloproteinases (MMPs) are known as important player enzymes during tumor progression and metastasis. Aberrant epigenetic modification of chromatin should be...

Downregulation of TMEM40 by miR-138-5p suppresses cell proliferation and mobility in clear cell renal cell carcinoma

Background: Clear cell renal cell carcinoma (ccRCC) represents approximately 70% of RCC,as the most frequent histological subtype of RCC. MiR-138-5p, a tumor-related microRNA (miRNA), has been reported to be implicated in the diverse types of human malignancies, but its role in ccRCCremains unclear. Objective: The study was designed to investigate the function...

Metastatic Renal cell Carcinoma Presenting as a clear-cell Tumor in Tongue: A Case Report

Introduction: Metastatic lesions of the oral cavity are extremely rare, accounting for approximately 1% of all malignant oral tumors. The most common primary sources of metastatic tumors in the oral region are, from the most to the least common, the breast, lung, kidney, bone, and colon. Renal cell carcinoma accounts for nearly 3% of all adult malignancies. It usually metastasizes to the lungs,...

Klotho plays a critical role in clear cell renal cell carcinoma progression and clinical outcome.

Klotho functions as a tumor suppressor predominantly expressed in renal tubular cells, the origin of clear cell renal cell carcinoma (ccRCC). Altered expression and/or activity of growth factor receptor have been implicated in ccRCC development. Although Klotho suppresses a tumor progression through growth factor receptor signaling including insulin-like growth factor-1 receptor (IGF-1R), the r...

Cell cycle progression score predicts metastatic progression of clear cell renal cell carcinoma after resection.

BACKGROUND The outcome of surgically resected, apparently localized, clear cell renal carcinoma (ccRCC) is uncertain. OBJECTIVE To evaluate if cell cycle progression (CCP) gene expression can predict future metastasis. METHODS Pathologic T2a-T3b tumors at University of Iowa were reviewed. Patients with known or suspected metastasis, lymph node involvement or who received neoadjuvant or adju...
